Training & Recruitment
Become a freelance virtual editorial assistant
Are you interested in becoming a freelance virtual editorial assistant?
As an editorial assistant, you will be responsible for managing the peer review process. In addition, you will provide support and assistance with the day-to-day running of an academic journal to all contributors, including editors, authors, reviewers and publishers.
You will manage mailboxes, keep track of submissions, provide reports and statistics, communicate with all contributors as each individual article progresses through the system, and much more. Each journal and team is different, so your role with each publication will differ slightly, but the basics remain the same.
We offer editorial assistant training on two of the largest submission system platforms. You will be shown around the systems, gain some hands-on experience, shadow one of our experienced senior managing editors, and walk away with the PA EDitorial – Tier 1 – Editorial Office Certificate.
