PA EDitorial

Training

We are training!

Are you curious about how academic journals decide what gets published, and how they do this?

Are you interested in the peer review process? Have you thought about joining our team?!

We are pleased to announce the launch of the next round of PA EDitorial’s Training Academy. Learn all about how journals manage the review of academic papers before publication.

Throughout 2026, we will be running our bespoke PA EDitorial training course, designed to build your knowledge and understanding of peer review as well as the submission systems and workflows involved. The first course is due to begin in April.

In support of continuous learning and high-quality editorial practice, we run a dedicated training academy.

This includes bespoke, in-person training sessions and tailored support materials designed for both new and experienced managing editors, helping to strengthen skills and maintain consistency across our teams.

Are you ready to learn something new?

Do you have excellent interpersonal skills and an eye for detail? Do you like the thought of potentially working with us one day?

Through our training course, we will deliver the knowledge and skills that you would need to become a highly skilled editorial assistant and deliver a first-class service to all stakeholders.

Training will take place online via Teams during the working week, between 9 am and 3 pm (UK time), as a two-hour session delivered every week for six weeks.

This training is fully comprehensive, so newcomers to peer review are very welcome to register their interest.

The training will prepare you to:

Close-up of a hand writing in a notebook on a desk.

Delivered by an experienced peer review professional, you will learn, step by step, how journals run peer review.
